Hamza, Mustapha, and Ali Faiz established SmartProf in 2021 with the intention of creating a one-stop edtech marketplace for private tutoring in North and West Africa, a market they estimate to be worth billions of dollars.
“After observing the shortcomings of Morocco’s private educational system, we founded Smartprof. We really believed that each student need some form of private support to successfully navigate the difficulties they experienced in the classroom.
Finding a tutor is a nightmare because the private tutoring market is so fragmented. There was a definite need for a software product that produces an excellent teaching experience because price is also opaque,“ said Faiz.
