International ride-hailing platform, inDriver has added Lebanon to the list of MENA regions it is providing service for. This announcement is also coming up after the company which is headquartered in California, U.S.A. announced its launch plans for Kolkata, India.

The ride-hailing service has a unique offering different from a number of popular services like Uber, Bolt, etc. With inDriver, passengers set their prices or move based on price recommendations from the app. inDriver also has a no-surge and no-payment for service policy that sets it apart from other ride-hailing services.

The announcement of the company's services in Lebanon signifies the company's expansion plans to provide its services across the Middle East and North African (MENA) region. In the MENA region, inDriver currently serves Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and the newly announced Lebanon.

Ride-hailing services in this region are as competitive as it is in many parts of the world. In Egypt, which is one of the fastest-growing populations in the MENA region, ride-hailing has been regarded as a very necessary innovation in the country with a growth rate of approximately one million every six months.

The launch in Lebanon is only limited to the capital city Beirut with undisclosed plans of expansion to other parts of the relatively small county.

Speaking about the launch, Areson Tomsky, inDriver CEO said: "Residents of the capital, Beirut, can now use our services. The launch in Lebanon is the fifth country in the region, joining Egypt, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. Lebanon is a relatively small country, but what it lacks in size it compensates in beauty. A few hours’ journey by car will take you through a range of climates, from snow-covered mountains to subtropical Mediterranean beaches. Lebanon boasts ancient monuments and modern amenities. Now residents of and visitors to Beirut will have one more option when it comes to transportation. inDriver gives passengers and drivers the change to ‘haggle’ over the price of each ride, practices honed and even respected in the regions famous bazaars!"
