About the job

Pepkor Speciality is seeking to employ a Web Developer who will form part of our eCommerce department. The primary focus of this position is the maintenance of software that supports e-commerce platforms.

The position is based in our E-commerce Distribution Centre in Brackenfell and the successful candidate will report to the E-commerce Systems Lead.

Responsibilities

• Engage and communicate with web coordinators in each Brand to ensure updates are processed  timeously
• Update and maintain websites with business change requests, within agreed specifications and required time frames and submitted for approval prior to publishing.
• Assisting with the testing of backend and front-end applications.
• Document procedures, functionality and configuration changes as required for new features and plug-ins, for approval by the Team Leader.
• Work as part of a project team for any Ecommerce related projects.
• Assisting the web development team with all aspects of website and application design.
• Converting video, audio, written, and graphic components into compatible formats for the web.
• Must be available to travel and be on standby.

Job Requirements

• Tertiary qualification with a B.Tech or diploma in web development
• A minimum of 2 years experience as a Web developer is essential
• Working knowledge and experience in Shopify is essential
• Working experience within an E-commerce environment is essential
• Working knowledge of theme development on Shopify advantageous
• Experience working with HTML, CSS, JQuery, JSON and Ajax is essential
• Experience with web optimisation and understanding of graphic formats
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to take responsibility and be decisive.
• Ability to work within a team.
• Effective planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines and work under pressure
• High focus on attention to detail
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport
